Loren Smith

Director Of Center And Sanctuary Operations at National Audubon Society

Loren Smith has extensive work experience in nonprofit organizations and development roles. In 2001, they served as the Annual Giving Manager at the American Red Cross, Greater Buffalo Chapter. From 2004 to 2008, they worked at the University at Buffalo as the Associate Director of Development. In 2008, they became the Director of Development at Read to Succeed Buffalo. In 2009, they joined the Buffalo Audubon Society as the Director of Development and later became the Executive Director from 2011 to 2018. Currently, Loren is the Director of Network Development and Strategy at the National Audubon Society.

Loren Smith began their education at the University of Chicago in 1986 and completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Geophysical Sciences in 1990. Following this, Loren pursued further education at Harvard University from 1990 to 1995, where they received a Ph.D. in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology.
