Vangelis Georgopoulos has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Vangelis began their career as an Economic Analyst at Eurobank EFG in 2006. After that, they worked as a Risk Consultant at Ernst & Young for a brief period in 2008. Later the same year, they joined the National Bank of Greece, where they held various positions. From 2008 to 2016, they served as a Senior Associate in the Group Risk Control & Architecture Division, focusing on ICAAP, stress tests, and other related tasks. In 2016, they were promoted to the position of Head of Internal Capital Analysis Unit in the Group Risk Control & Architecture Division. Vangelis was responsible for managing the ICAAP projects and the calculation of Capital Adequacy (PIllar I) for NBG Subsidiaries. In 2019, they became the Head of the Internal Capital Analysis & Risk Appetite Framework Monitoring Subdivision, reporting to the Head of Group Credit Risk Control. In this role, they continued their responsibilities related to ICAAP and Capital Adequacy Calculation. Overall, Vangelis Georgopoulos has gained expertise in risk management, capital analysis, and project management through their work experience.

Vangelis Georgopoulos earned a Bachelor's degree with Distinction in Banking and Financial Management from the University of Piraeus in 2001. Vangelis then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Banking and Financial Management at the same university from 2003 to 2005, graduating with Distinction. Vangelis also completed their high school education in Nafplio in 1997.
