Richard Barrett has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Richard currently works as the Strategic Relationship Director at National Broadband Ireland, where they are responsible for implementing and supporting the governance framework for delivering the National Broadband Program. Prior to this, Richard held the role of Sales Director at Neos Networks, where they established a dedicated team to deliver the sales strategy. Richard also worked at open eir as the Director Strategy and Development, leading the commercial planning and delivery of eir's program to expand broadband coverage. Earlier in their career, Richard held various roles at eircom Wholesale and AT&T, including Strategic Account Director, Head of Product Management, and Frame Relay Product Manager.
Richard Barrett has a Bachelor of Science (Engineering) degree from Technological University Dublin, which they obtained from 1982 to 1986. Richard pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at Kingston University from 1994 to 1996. Richard then completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Marketing at the Irish Management Institute from 2008 to 2009. Richard later obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Cloud Strategy from the Irish Management Institute from 2014 to 2015. Most recently, Richard attended The Corporate Governance Institute from 2022 to 2023, where they earned a Diploma in Corporate Governance.
