Kalela Lancaster's work experience begins with their current role as a Representative in Israel for the National Council of Jewish Women, INC, where they are responsible for driving philanthropic, capacity-building, and field-building programs in Israel. Kalela nurtures and leverages connections between NCJW's field activists in the US and women activists and impact innovators in Israeli society.
Before their current position, Kalela worked as a Strategic Consultant from January 2017 to November 2021 while being self-employed. In this role, they provided strategic consulting services.
From December 2014 to November 2016, Kalela served as the Director of Engagement for New Israel Fund UK. Kalela'sresponsibilities included managing communications, representing NIF in the community, and developing new engagement initiatives.
Prior to that, Kalela worked at Shatil from January 2008 to December 2014 as a Resource Development Consultant and Program Manager. Before that, they were a Project Director at the Economic Cooperation Foundation from September 2005 to December 2007 and a Resource Development and Project Director at the Public Committee Against Torture in Israel from September 2002 to August 2005.
Kalela's work experience also includes being the Founding Director of the Tibetan/Jewish Youth Exchange (TJYE) from 1999 to 2002. The TJYE was an international project that connected UK Jewish youth leaders with exiled Tibetan youth and trained them in methodologies of Jewish youth movements.
Kalela Lancaster obtained a Diploma in Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility from the College of Law and Business in 2019. Additionally, they completed a Diploma in Community Organizing from The Academic College of Tel-Aviv, Yaffo from 2009 to 2010. Prior to that, they pursued their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Literature and Philosophy from the University of Leeds, which they completed from 1994 to 1997.
