Michael Lagua is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in aquatic conservation and data analysis. Currently serving as a Senior Data Scientist at the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation since August 2013, Michael manages and analyzes spatial and non-spatial data to enhance conservation planning. Previous roles include managing the Fisheries Innovation Fund and Electronic Monitoring and Reporting grant programs, along with coordinating significant funding initiatives for the Long Island Sound and Delaware River. Michael's early career involved grant administration and research support in various capacities, including internships focused on grant processes and wildlife research. Michael holds a Master of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of Maryland.
