Adrian Hardwicke has extensive experience in the museum industry. Adrian currently serves as the Director of Operations at the National Galleries of Scotland, where they are responsible for the operational management of multiple galleries and leading on efforts to respond to climate change. Before that, they worked at the Whitney Museum of American Art as the Chief Visitor Experience Officer, overseeing operational planning and creating a culture of continuous improvement. Prior to that, they held various roles at Tate, including Director of Visitor Experience and Estates, Head of Visitor Services and Operations, Front-of-House Manager, Project Officer, and Press Officer. Throughout their career, Adrian has consistently demonstrated a strong focus on enhancing visitor service, implementing change management initiatives, and improving productivity and service standards.
Adrian Hardwicke obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Film Studies from the University of East Anglia in 1990. Prior to that, from 1986 to 1989, Adrian completed a BA Hons degree in History of Art, Design, and Film at Middlesex University.
