Matthew Newman

Matthew Newman is a seasoned professional in the gas market sector, currently serving as Gas Market Development Manager at National Gas since February 2023, following the company’s formation from National Grid Gas. Previously, within National Grid from November 2017 to February 2023, Matthew held various roles including Code Change Lead, where responsibilities involved managing UNC Modifications and regulatory strategies aimed at enhancing security of supply across Great Britain and Continental Europe. Earlier experiences include serving as Senior Meter Assurance Engineer and Capacity Auction Analyst at National Grid, as well as positions at Xoserve as Business Process Co-ordinator and Business Process Administrator. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA Hons) degree in Sociology and Criminology from Leeds Beckett University, completed in 2014.
