Rob S. has extensive work experience in various technology and engineering roles. Rob started their career as an Engineer Scientist at Boeing in 2002, where they focused on systems engineering for intelligence and communications systems on military aircraft. In 2005, they joined Lockheed Martin as a Systems Engineer, specializing in enterprise acquisition, systems engineering, and risk management. Rob then transitioned to Booz Allen Hamilton in 2006, taking on the role of Associate and managing day-to-day operations for mission-critical systems.
In 2009, Rob joined the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) as an Enterprise Architect in the IT Services division, where they provided their expertise in IT architecture and engineering. Over the years, Rob took on increasingly senior leadership roles within NGA, including Chief of the IT Architecture & Requirements Division and Operations Center Director for the National Operations Center (NOC). Rob also served as the Strategic Program Lead Engineer for IT Services, overseeing the expansion of supplier access and content. In 2018, Rob became the Technical Executive for the Source Directorate, leading technology planning and execution to support core agency functions like collection management and foundation GEOINT production.
Most recently, in 2021, Rob was promoted to the position of Director of the Analytic Technology Office at the NGA. Throughout their career, they have been actively involved in championing the adoption of emerging technologies such as machine learning and artificial intelligence. Rob has received accolades for their leadership and contributions, earning the Director's Meritorious Unit Citation for their work on IT invest/divest analysis during the agency's stand-up of Portfolio Management.
Rob S. earned a High School Diploma from Duncan U. Fletcher High School in 1998. Rob then went on to James Madison University and completed their Bachelor of Business Administration in Computer Information Systems from 1998 to 2002. In 2003, Rob S. attended The George Washington University, where they obtained a Master of Science in Project Management, completing their degree in 2005. Additionally, they received certifications such as DAWAI Systems Engineer Level III and DAWIA IT Level I from the National Defense University in 2015, and a Certified Enterprise Architect-Black Belt certification from National Louis University in 2009.
