Tia Carter Brown

Tia Carter Brown, SHRM-CP, currently serves as Senior Human Resources Manager at the National Governors Association, where responsibilities include leading talent management initiatives such as recruitment, onboarding, performance management, staff development, and employee relations. Previous roles include Human Resources Manager at the R Street Institute, where Tia managed people operations, oversaw hiring and recruitment, and administered payroll and benefits. Tia has also held positions at the Physician Assistant Education Association, the ERISA Industry Committee, The Pew Charitable Trusts, and the Institute of Medicine, gaining extensive experience in administration, event coordination, and executive support. Tia holds a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus and a Bachelor of Science in Community and Public Health from the University of Maryland.
