Mohammed Halawani has a diverse work experience, starting in 2007 as a Consultant of Neurosurgery and Spine Surgery at King Abdulaziz Military City for Operation and Maintenance (KAMC). Mohammed then served as the Chairman of Spine Department at King Fahad Medical City - KFMC from 2010 to 2014. Mohammed later joined Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital as a Consultant of Neurosurgery and Spine Surgery, also serving as the Head of Neurosurgery Division. During this time, they were actively involved in numerous committees and accreditation processes. In 2015, they became the Chief Executive Officer of Riyadh Care Hospital, where they managed financial, operational, and clinical aspects, and also held the position of Chairman of the Neurosurgery Division. Halawani had a brief stint as a lecturer at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University in 2017 before joining the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) as a Member. Their most recent roles include being the Chief Executive Officer of Najad Care and Najd Care, both in 2018.

Mohammed Halawani has a strong education background in the medical field. Mohammed began their education by obtaining a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from King AbdulAziz University between 1990 and 1997. Mohammed then pursued further specialization in neurosurgery at the University of Ottawa from 2000 to 2006, where they obtained the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada degree. Prior to this, in 2005 to 2006, Mohammed completed a fellowship in skull base surgery at the University of Ottawa. Mohammed also pursued a spine fellowship at the University of Calgary in 2006 to 2007, specializing in spine surgery.
