Leahanne Thomas

Leahanne Thomas is the current Chief Transformation Officer at the National Minority Supplier Development Council. Leahanne has also previously worked as a business talent group and as an LT coach. From January 2015 to July 2017, they were the VP Network for Maryland and DC at Anthem. In this role, they directed major strategies and plans to meet and surpass the organizational vision and goals, focused on outward facing network management across MD and DC markets. Leahanne also developed and implemented the commercial overall vision and road map, leading operational realignment to meet the new structure's target KPIs and goals. Furthermore, they created and executed plans to eliminate pain points and boost customer satisfaction in a highly competitive SaaS environment. Compiling and analyzing performance data to identify notable areas for improvement and more effective resource management was also part of their role. Some of their significant contributions during their time at Anthem include surpassing all targets for leading the migration to a full shift in reimbursement structure, being adopted as the national model; introducing a critical process change to the contracting and credentialing process across MD and DC markets, exceeding the established SLA metrics and eliminating the backlog; creating and implementing a nationally adopted process change for internal account management/provider relations' staffing; overseeing a complex, successful network expansion for a bid to enter the DC market; and developing a novel program to embed clinical support into physician practices, advancing overall clinical outcomes.

Leahanne Thomas has a JD from University of Baltimore School of Law, an MPA from North Carolina State University, and a BA in Political Science and Government from Loyola University Maryland. Leahanne also has a certification from BetterUp in BetterUp Coaching Development and a certification from Maryland Court of Appeals in Member Maryland Bar.
