Catherine Gaumond

Chef Du Service Des Collections at National Museum of Fine Arts of Quebec

Catherine Gaumond currently serves as the Chef du service des collections at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (MNBAQ) since June 2019. Previously, Catherine held the position of Chargée de projet d'exposition and chef d'équipe muséographie at Musées de la civilisation from January 2017 to June 2019. Additionally, from April 2009 to September 2016, Catherine was the Directrice Musée et archives at the Monastère des Augustines, where responsibilities included exhibition design, team management, budget oversight, and daily museum operations. Catherine's earlier experience includes working as an ethnologist at Université Laval from May 2007 to April 2009, engaging in research and documentation related to intangible cultural heritage. Educational qualifications include a Baccalauréat in Sciences historiques et études patrimoniales from Université Laval and a D.E.C in Théâtre scénographie from Collège Lionel-Groulx, along with ongoing Master’s studies in Ethnologie des francophones d'Amérique du Nord at Université Laval.
