Matthew Giacona

Matt Giacona currently serves as the Vice President of Government Affairs at the National Ocean Industries Association, a position held since January 2023. Previously, Giacona worked at the International Association of Drilling Contractors, where roles included Director, Assistant Director, and Legislative Assistant in Government and Industry Affairs from May 2019 to January 2023. Prior experience includes serving as an Associate at Venn Strategies and a Government Relations Intern at the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition. Giacona also interned as a Legislative Intern in the U.S. House of Representatives and gained early experience as an M&A/Strategic Advisory Intern at Capistrano Global Advisory Services. Giacona holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Michigan State University's James Madison College and has studied EU Policy & Western European Security at the Université libre de Bruxelles. Educational background also includes attendance at the University of Deusto and a high school diploma from Grosse Pointe North High School.
