Izzat Kamarudzaman is a Research Software Engineer at the National Oceanography Centre since May 2020, focusing on collaborative research and development to enhance strategies for understanding ocean and climate change through autonomous control, machine learning engineering, and data science for underwater robotic systems. Previously, Izzat served as a Research Assistant at EPSRC Proteus IRC, working on tissue fluorescence imaging for lung cancer diagnostics, employing signal processing and machine learning. Additional experience includes a role as an Automation Engineer at Intel Corporation, contributing to the design and development of internal solutions using IoT sensors and data analytics in multiple countries, and serving as a Software Engineer focused on developing validation tools for post-silicon testing modules. Izzat holds a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence from The University of Edinburgh and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical - Control and Instrumentation from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
