Tate Higgins

Tate Higgins is an accomplished Emergency Medicine Physician currently working at Kaiser Permanente since August 2024. With extensive experience in outdoor guiding and wilderness medicine, Tate has served as a Guide for Bio Bio Expeditions World Wide since January 2011 and for ECHO River Trips from May 2008 to September 2012. Additionally, Tate has been an Instructor at the NOLS Wilderness Medicine Institute since November 2008. Prior to the current position, Tate completed an Emergency Medicine Residency at Stanford Health Care from July 2020 to July 2024. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Oregon Health & Science University, an MFA in Creative Writing from Colorado State University, and a BA in English from Clemson University.
