Brian Goeken serves as the Chief of Technical Preservation Services at the National Park Service since June 2011, bringing extensive experience in historic preservation. Prior to this role, Brian held the position of Deputy Commissioner for the Historic Preservation Division within the City of Chicago from January 1997 to June 2011, and earlier worked as a Design Review/Preservation Planner for the City of Pasadena from 1992 to 1996. Brian holds two master's degrees from Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation in Historic Preservation and Urban Planning, along with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Design from Texas A&M University.
