CA Prasad P Joshi has joined NPCI as VP & Head - IT Procurement in December 2017. He is an associate member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) since 2004 and graduated from Mumbai University as Bachelor of Commerce (BCom).
He brings in with him 17 years’ experience in the field of IT procurement and its transformation, contract structuring for various IT projects, business analyst, cost efficiency and price negotiations. Prior to joining NPCI, he was associated with multiple organizations, namely, National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. (NSEIL), Tata Share Registry Ltd. (TSRL), CMS Computers Ltd. (CMS) and NSEIT Ltd. (NSEIT). His longest association has been with esteemed NSE group of companies wherein he played various roles from setting up IT procurement & commercial as a strategic and business enabling function to becoming a key member of IT Procurement Committee and Head of IT Budget and Procurement. He was also CFO of NSE’s 100% subsidiary company, NSE Strategic Investment Corporation Ltd. (NSICL) for last 2 years.
He was instrumental in and has witnessed many technology transformations/ decisions for one of the leading Exchanges in the world during his association with NSE touching various technology domains/ initiatives including x.25 to IP migration, building nation-wide leased line network, Captive VSAT to Shared hub VSAT migration, MPLS, SDN (forward looking network technologies); proprietary to open source software (de-risking); physical to private cloud to hyper converged infrastructure (speed & scalability); mainframe servers to commodity servers (latency & cost efficiency); in-house development of business critical software and rewriting thereof (de-risking); IT pulse dashboard (operational efficiency); strengthening IT Security posture; etc.
He is also a Six Sigma Green Belt certified professional who pioneered the paperless & lean process for IT procurement. One of his significant achievements has been his contribution in visualizing and developing the home grown application for “End to End Spend Management” encompassing various modules such as budgeting, procure to pay, contract management, vendor empanelment, goods receipt notes, etc.”
