Gilbert Moreno is a Senior Research Engineer at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, with extensive experience in designing advanced thermal management systems for power electronics and electric machines. Since August 2009, responsibilities have included modeling heat exchanger performance using various computational tools, conducting experiments on heat transfer, fabricating test benches, and supervising laboratory operations to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards. Prior to this role, Gilbert served as a Research and Teaching Assistant at The University of Texas at Arlington, focusing on two-phase flow boiling and heat transfer while also teaching undergraduate courses. Additional engineering experience includes designing HVAC systems at Lockheed Martin and performing chemical tests as a technician at Nalco. Gilbert holds a PhD and a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at El Paso.
