Jay Huggins

Jay Huggins is a seasoned software engineer and cloud architect with extensive experience in developing and managing software solutions across various industries. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer and Cloud Architect at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory since April 2024, Jay previously held the position of Senior Software Engineer at Heila Technologies, where responsibilities included architecting a microservice-based Python/Flask client dashboard and leading an algorithms team for TensorFlow model deployment in AWS. Prior experience at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory involved managing teams to create Flask/Python/MongoDB applications tailored to Department of Energy requirements. Jay also held roles as a Web Developer at Oceanside Ten Mgmt. Inc. and as Owner of Cocopa, overseeing a range of operations including website development and administration. Jay began a career as a Developer Support Engineer at Xerox, focusing on application development with Perl and various operating systems. A graduate of Colorado State University with a BSEE in Semiconductor Physics, Jay possesses a strong foundation in software development and architecture.
