Evgeny Sokolov

Evgeny Sokolov is a highly experienced professional in the fields of data science and machine learning, currently serving as Lead Data Scientist at Yandex.Zen since January 2017. In addition to this role, Sokolov has been a Senior Lecturer and Deputy Head of the Big Data and Information Retrieval Department at the National Research University — Higher School of Economics since January 2016, where lectures on Machine Learning are conducted. Sokolov also teaches a Practical Machine Learning course at Moscow State University, covering topics such as supervised and unsupervised learning and data science competitions. Previous positions include Data Scientist and Head of the unstructured data analysis team at Yandex Data Factory and roles in research at various organizations, focusing on data mining and bioinformatics. Sokolov holds a Ph.D. in Machine Learning and a Specialist degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Lomonosov Moscow State University.
