Scott Vinson has held several roles at the National Retail Federation, including most recently as vice president of the National Council of Chain Restaurants (NCCR) division. He continues to serve in an operational role for NCCR, managing and liaising with NCCR’s Food Safety Task Force and Food Supply Chain Committee and working with NCCR’s Board of Directors to develop policy positions on issues important to the chain restaurant industry. In addition to this work, he now also advocates for NRF’s broader retail membership, including managing a portfolio of food and energy policy issues. For several years he has also chaired a broad-based coalition of stakeholders seeking reform of federal biofuels policy, and he is recognized in policy circles as a leader on this subject.
Prior to joining NRF in March 2001, Vinson served as manager of labor and immigration policy at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C., where he managed the Chamber’s advocacy for a comprehensive overhaul of the nation’s immigration laws. Before entering government relations, Vinson worked for lawmakers at both the state and federal level.
