Yaacov Silverstein

Yaacov Silverstein has over 20 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Technical Support. Yaacov began their career in 1995 at Bar Ilan University as a Senior Computer Lab Assistant and Advisor, where they maintained PCs, configured users on the University Novell Network, and helped users in the computer labs. In 2000, they moved to Promique Technologies (ICSavings), Kibbutz Tzora, as an Internet Operations, where they researched, configured, and installed Web, Mail, FTP, and Telnet Servers, and applied load tests on the various servers. In 2001, they joined EarthLink Internet as a Senior QA Engineer, where they were responsible for end-to-end E-mail application testing on PalmOS and Pocket PC platforms. In 2003, they worked as a Volunteer/Freelance WebDesigner at YeshaShops, where they designed websites, hosted, created graphics, and wrote automated testing tools in Perl for load testing and regular testing of Skype client, Facebook, and Twitter. In 2005, they joined KnowledgePeople.com as a Technical Support Manager/PC Help Desk, where they designed and implemented a Technical Support Center, prepared a Knowledge Base for common support issues, and provided remote PC support for clients in the UK. In 2006, they moved to iSkoot as a QA Engineer & 2nd level Technical Support, where they were responsible for testing Skype on Symbian/Brew/Java cellphones, customer support, processing daily activity statistics, writing STD's, and creating automated testing tools. In 2010, they joined LivePerson as a QA Engineer for the Platform Team. In 2012, they moved to Nu Mark Innovations, Ltd. (NMI) as a QA Automation Engineer, where they built a robust Automation Framework using Selenium in the Katalon IDE and integrated automation with Jenkins daily deploys including reporting. In 2019, they joined Freightos as a Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer, where they upgraded existing infrastructure of over 1000 daily automation tests, performed testing with Jmeter, created API Ghost Inspector tests, created CI pipeline in Bitbucket/Docker Env., and created API's to automatically test BPM and multiple Micro Services. Yaacov is currently a Senior QA Engineer at National Retail Solutions (NRS Plus).

Yaacov Silverstein's educational history includes attending Scranton Hebrew Dayschool from 1976 to 1981, Yeshiva Gedolah Montreal from 1981 to 1985, Ottawa Torah Institute from 1985 to 1987, a yeshiva from 1989 to 1992, and Kerem Be Yavneh from 1990 to 1992. Yaacov also earned a BA in Logistics from Bar-Ilan University from 1991 to 1996.
