Wendy O'Connor, Ed.D. has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of education. Wendy currently serves as the Director of Literacies, Educational Technology, and Innovation at the National School District. Wendy has also held positions as an Adjunct Professor at Concordia University Irvine and California State University San Marcos. Prior to that, they worked at the Vista Unified School District in various roles including Coordinator in Curriculum & Instruction, Content Support Resource Teacher, Literacy Coach, and Teacher. Additionally, they have served as an Adjunct Professor & Reader at the University of California San Diego.
Wendy O'Connor, Ed.D. obtained their Bachelor of Arts - BA in Literacy from San Diego State University in 1993. Wendy then pursued an Associate of Arts - AA degree at Palomar College in 1992. Wendy went on to earn their Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from San Diego State University in 1994. In 2001, they completed their Master's degree in Education with a Literacy Option at California State University San Marcos, and also obtained a Reading Specialist Credential.
Wendy continued their education by earning an Administrative Credential Clearance from National University in 2015. Wendy then pursued a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Teaching and Learning at UC San Diego from 2013 to 2017. Additionally, Wendy holds additional certifications, including the California Clear Administrative Services Credential from National University obtained in June 2016, and the Professional Clear Multiple Subject Credential Crosscultural Language and Academic Development (CLAD) Emphasis Supplementary English from San Diego State University obtained in December 1994.
