Jack DeWaard is a Program Director at the National Science Foundation, overseeing the Division of Social and Economic Sciences since October 2024. Previously, Jack served as the Scientific Director of the Division of Social and Behavioral Science Research at the Population Council from June 2022 to October 2024. Jack's academic career includes roles as an Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota's Department of Sociology and Minnesota Population Center from August 2013 to May 2023. Earlier experience includes a position as a Graduate Research Assistant and NICHD Trainee at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and as a Resource Development Specialist for the Oregon Child Development Coalition. Jack holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an MA in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and a BA in Sociology and Philosophy from Seattle Pacific University.
