Malav Shah

Malav Shah has extensive experience in the legal and compliance field. Malav is currently serving as the Vice President and Head of Legal & Compliance Officer at National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) since December 2020. Prior to this, they worked as a Counsel at Khaitan & Co, Advocates & Solicitors from May 2017 to December 2020, specializing in areas such as mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, and securities law advisory. Before joining Khaitan & Co, Malav served as a Principal Associate at J. Sagar Associates, Advocates & Solicitors, where they gained expertise in corporate and business laws, mergers & acquisitions, and employment laws. Malav also has experience working as a Company Secretary & AVP Legal at Equitymaster Agora Research Private Limited and as a Senior Secretarial Officer at Mahendra Bhuta & Associates.

Malav Shah completed their Master in Business Laws from the National Law School of India University from 2009 to 2011. Prior to that, they obtained their L.L.B degree from Jitendra Chauhan College of Law from 2005 to 2008. In 2004 to 2006, they completed the Company Secretary course from The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, specializing in Company Law, Tax, Accounts, Financial Management, and other laws. Malav also completed their M.Com degree from the University of Mumbai from 2003 to 2005. Additionally, they obtained a Masters in Business Law degree from the National Law School of India University and a Bachelor of Laws - LLB degree from the University of Mumbai.
