Elaine Hodgin has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Elaine currently works as the Head of Marketing at National Star since January 2019. Before that, they were the Communications & Insights Manager at The Cheltenham Trust from October 2018 to January 2019. From December 2014 to October 2018, they served as the Head of Sales & Marketing at Clarkson Evans Ltd, where they advised the board on marketing strategy and positioned the company as experts in apprenticeships. Prior to that, they were the Marketing & Communications Manager at Canal & River Trust in 2014. Elaine also has experience as a Marketing Consultant, running their own business from 2007 to 2014, where they achieved government targets to increase the number of volunteers in Gloucestershire. Elaine has held director-level positions in business development and marketing at BPE Solicitors LLP from 2005 to 2007 and Harrison Clark Rickerbys Ltd from 2000 to 2005, respectively. Elaine started their career in the media industry, working as a Senior Journalist at Birmingham Evening Mail in 1991 and later as a Press & Publicity Officer at West Midlands Police from 1992 to 1995. Elaine then became the Marketing and Media Services Manager at Gloucestershire Constabulary from 1995 to 2000.

Elaine Hodgin pursued their education in a chronological manner, starting with their undergraduate studies at Newcastle University from 1986 to 1989. During this time, they earned a 2:1 degree in History and Religious Studies.

After a few years, they decided to focus on marketing and enrolled in Solihull College in the year 1994. Here, they completed an Advanced Certificate in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), which they concluded in 1995.

Motivated to further enhance their marketing knowledge, Elaine Hodgin attended the University of Gloucestershire from 1995 to 1997. Here, they obtained a CIM Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing.

Later on, in the year 2007, Elaine enrolled in Cambridge Marketing Colleges, dedicating their studies to the field of Public Relations. Elaine pursued a CIPR Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations, successfully completing it in 2008.
