Sector Head - Financial Advisory at National Treasury Management Agency

Colm Lynch began their work experience in 1993 at the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications as an Administrative Officer in the Electricity Division. Colm then moved on to various roles in different government departments such as the Department of the Taoiseach and the Department of the Transport, Tourism and Sport. In 1997, they worked as an Evaluator for EU Structural Funds at the Department of Finance Ireland. In 1999, they became an Assistant Principal in the Communications Division of the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications, where they handled financial management of the Eircom IPO transaction. Colm then transitioned to the private sector, joining KBC Bank & Verzekering in 2000 as the Vice President of the Infrastructure Project Finance team. In this role, they were responsible for project finance transactions in various sectors. In 2010, Colm joined KBC Bank Ireland plc as the Head of Corporate Banking in Dublin, managing key corporate banking relationships and overseeing a banking book worth over EUR1 billion. Finally, in 2013, they joined the National Treasury Management Agency as the Sector Head of Financial Advisory.

Colm Lynch has a diverse education history with a focus on finance, banking, and investment. Colm started their education journey in 1989 at University College Dublin, where they pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree. During this period, they studied subjects such as banking, finance, and management.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Colm Lynch joined Dublin City University in 1992. Colm enrolled in a Master of Science program, specializing in Investment and Treasury. This program allowed him to delve deeper into the financial aspects of investment and treasury management.

In 2009, Colm Lynch further expanded their knowledge by pursuing a Diploma in Finance Law at the Law Society of Ireland. This diploma provided him with a solid foundation in the field of finance law, enhancing their understanding of the legal aspects of finance.

Continuing their professional development, in 2013, Colm Lynch obtained a Professional Diploma in Financial Advice from the Institute of Banking (IOB). This diploma focused on providing comprehensive financial advice, with a particular emphasis on QFA (Qualified Financial Adviser) training.

Colm Lynch continued their education journey in 2018 at IOB, this time pursuing a Certified Bank Director certification. The program revolved around banking and corporate governance, equipping him with the necessary skills to excel in leadership roles within the banking sector.

Most recently, in 2021, Colm Lynch enrolled in the IOB to obtain a Professional Certificate in Responsible and Sustainable Finance. This certificate highlights Colm's interest in promoting responsible and sustainable financial practices.
