Ruth Howard has extensive experience in museum and collection management, currently serving as the Collections and House Manager for the Nymans/Standen Portfolio at the National Trust since October 2018. In this role, Ruth is a key member of the Property Leadership team, contributing to the strategic direction of Standen House and Garden while overseeing collections management. Prior to this, Ruth was the Museum Curator/Manager at West Berkshire Museum, where responsibilities included managing a diverse community-focused museum collection. Additional roles include Collections Officer and Museum Documentation Assistant at West Berkshire Council, and Curator at Vale and Downland Museum, where Ruth emphasized community engagement and educational initiatives. Early career experience includes a Gallery Assistant position at Ffotogallery. Ruth holds a Master of Arts in Art Gallery and Museum Studies from The University of Manchester, a Bachelor of Arts in Arts Education Studies from the University of Wales, Cardiff, and a Foundation degree from Carmarthen School of Art.
