Joanna Kaufman is an experienced project manager and land use planner with a strong background in urban and regional planning. Currently serving as Project Manager at National Zoning Atlas since May 2023, Joanna has held various roles in the field, including Deputy Program Coordinator and Analyst. Previously, Joanna worked at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck as a Land Use Planner, where responsibilities included managing complex development applications and coordinating stakeholders to ensure timely and budget-conscious project completion. Joanna's earlier experience includes serving as Program Director for the Coalition for Sustainable Transportation, Planning Technician for the Cities of Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo, and internships at the County of Santa Barbara, Valley Vision, and other organizations. Joanna holds a Master's degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and a Bachelor’s degree in Community and Regional Development from the University of California, Davis.
