Joel Coleman

Joel Coleman is an experienced investment professional currently serving as Chief Investment Officer at Nationwide since June 2020. Previously, Joel held the position of Chief Investment Officer at Transamerica from November 2011 to May 2020, where responsibilities included establishing portfolio strategy and asset allocation for an $80 billion General Account investment portfolio. In addition, Joel served on the AEGON Transamerica Foundation Board and the Board of Trustees for Transamerica's retirement plans. Prior to that, as Head of Portfolio Management at Aegon Asset Management from May 2008 to November 2011, Joel led a team focused on asset allocation and investment strategies for business unit portfolios. Joel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Penn State University, completed in May 1987.
