Tamika Lyons, MSc has worked in a variety of roles since 2014. From 2014 to 2016, they served as a Program Assistant for Native American Student Services at Northern Arizona University, and in 2016 they were a Fish Biologist Intern for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). In 2017, they were an Rare Plant Propogation/Horticulture Intern for The Research Corporation of the University of Hawai'i. In 2018, they were an Assessment Administrator for Westat - Improving Lives Through Research, as well as a Pollen Research Intern for École Pratique des Hautes Études. In 2019, they were an Administrator for Friends of Lyon Arboretum and a Teaching Assistant for the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Currently, they are a Yarn Development Engineer and Yarn Development & Quality Associate for Natural Fiber Welding.
Tamika Lyons, MSc has an extensive educational background. Tamika attended Kamehameha Schools Kapalama from 2010 to 2014, where they obtained their high school diploma. Tamika then attended Northern Arizona University from 2014 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies, a Bachelor's Degree in French, and a Certificate in International Engineering. In 2017-2018, they participated in a non-degree program at Université de Bordeaux in Earth Sciences. Tamika is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Botany/Plant Biology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, which they are expected to complete in 2021. In addition to their formal education, Tamika has obtained two certifications: Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals from Microsoft in June 2020, and Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED from the American Red Cross in December 2016.
