Asistant State Conservationist For Management And Stategy at Natural Resources Conservation Service

Ricardo J. Colon-Merced has extensive experience in conservation and wildlife biology, currently serving as the Assistant State Conservationist for Management and Strategy and Acting State Resource Conservationist at the Natural Resources Conservation Service since June 2022. Prior to this role, Ricardo held the position of State Biologist at USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service from October 2018 to June 2022 and worked as a Wildlife Biologist with the US Fish and Wildlife Service from June 2006 to October 2019. Ricardo earned a Master of Science in Biology with a focus on Bird Ecology from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez in May 2013 and a Bachelor of Animal Sciences in Agriculture from the same institution in May 2007.
