Drew Ball has extensive experience in political campaigns and advocacy work. From 2008 to 2009, they worked as a Regional Director for Kay Hagan's Senate campaign and as a Fundraiser for Bev Perdue's gubernatorial campaign. In 2009, they joined the Sierra Club, where they served as the PAC Director/Senior Campaign Representative and later as the Director of Government Relations. During their time at the Sierra Club, they managed the Victory Corp program and oversaw an $825K PAC budget. In 2010, they joined Nexus Strategies as an Associate before transitioning to Crossroads Campaigns in 2014 as a Senior Campaign Consultant. At Crossroads Campaigns, they focused on non-partisan voter registration, campaign research, fundraising, and campaign evaluation. In 2015, they worked as a National Account Executive at NGP VAN, a company that provides campaign technology for Democratic campaigns. In 2017, they became the State Director atEnvironment North Carolina, where they focused on independent research, advocacy, and grassroots action for environmental causes. In 2021, they joined the Appalachian Trail Conservancy as the Southern Regional Director, protecting the natural and cultural resources of the trail. In 2023, they became the Southeast Campaign Manager at the Natural Resources Defense Council, where they coordinate advocacy and power-building efforts to protect public health and the environment in the southeast region. Additionally, in 2016, they founded Compass Campaign Strategies, which works with progressive causes and candidates to achieve good government through unique initiatives and campaigns.
Drew Ball's education history begins in 2005 when they enrolled at North Carolina State University. Drew completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 2007. In the same year, they also participated in a study abroad program at Lund University. Later, in 2013, Drew pursued a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) degree at American University, specializing in State and Local Management. Drew successfully completed their studies in 2015.
