Lauren Marshall, PhD, serves as the Director of Landscape Restoration at Arbor Day Foundation since June 2022 and holds a leadership role at the International Society of Arboriculture as a Director on the Board of Directors. Additionally, Lauren is a Director on the Board of Directors for Nature Sacred, advising on strategic direction and resource allocation to foster urban green spaces. With prior experience at the U.S. Forest Service in various roles, including Legislative Affairs Specialist and National Program Manager for Urban & Community Forestry, Lauren has a strong background in environmental policy and community forestry initiatives. Lauren's early career included notable contributions as an Appointed Member of the Committee on the Environment for the City of Takoma Park and as a Research Assistant at the Landscape Ecology, Perception and Design Lab. Lauren earned a PhD in Landscape Architecture & Plant Science from the University of Maryland, complemented by a Master's in Landscape Architecture from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor's in Plant Science from Cornell University.
