Nikushi Yatigala

Nikushi Yatigala has extensive work experience in the field of polymer research and engineering. From 2018 to present, they have been working at NatureWorks as a Senior Scientist, responsible for conducting research and contributing to scientific advancements. Prior to that, from 2015 to 2018, Nikushi worked as a Research Scientist at North Dakota State University, focusing on the development and testing of sustainable polymer composites. They successfully improved the strength and biodegradation properties of these materials while considering UV degradation characteristics.

In 2014, Nikushi gained practical experience as an Industrial Engineer Co-op at Hutchinson Technology Inc., where they actively participated in cross-functional teams and managed multiple process and quality improvement projects. They utilized various tools such as AutoCAD, Creo, control charts, pareto charts, inventory models, AS400, and MOVEX systems.

Additionally, Nikushi worked as a Research Assistant at the Center for Nanoscale Science and Engineering from 2012 to 2013, contributing to research projects in the field.

Nikushi Yatigala completed a Master's degree in Polymer-Mechanical Engineering at North Dakota State University in 2017. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Industrial Engineering, also from North Dakota State University, in 2015.
