The AP Accountant will report to the Assistant Controller and be an integral member to the business and accounting team. As an individual contributor, you will own the full cycle of the accounts payable process. You will also be working collaboratively to support general ledger, payroll, treasury, audit, taxes preparation and other ad hoc operational analyses as required.

  • As the AP Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end accounts payable process, credit card, employee expense reimbursement reports and accruals.
  • Set up new vendors in the system, obtain the necessary documents such as w8/w9 and bank details for payment
  • Accurate processing of invoices by using Bill.com or similar, ensuring to obtain appropriate approval and general ledger account
  • Review and process employee expense reports in accordance with company policies to ensure timely reimbursement payment
  • Schedule semi-monthly accounts payable payments and record timely in the system
  • Prepare monthly journal entries of AP and legal accruals
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records by reconciling accounts payable transactions and resolving discrepancies
  • Maintain accounts payable aging report, ensuring the accuracy of invoices and credits
  • Responsible for bank reconciliations for assigned bank accounts
  • Prepare cash cost category mapping for Funds Flow Report
  • Proactively Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the accounts payable function to streamline processes
  • Participate in the implementation and enhancement of financial systems and tools to support the growing needs of the company
  • Support year end audit requests, 1099 filing, and other regulatory filings to ensure compliance
  • Assist semi-monthly payroll and record payroll journal entries
  • Ad hoc projects and other duties, including but not limited to assisting Accounts Receivable, fixed assets, account reconciliations and day-to-day banking activities as necessary

Experience and Skills:

  • Start-up experience required 
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3 years of relevant accounting experience, with a focus on accounts payable
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.  Experience in using Bill.com or similar and Netsuite is strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Technology / SaaS and high-growth start-up experience with venture capital and/or private equity backed companies is a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel preferred (Pivot & Vlookup)

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $85,000 - $112,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US, remote locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
