Tahmida Mahmud

Tahmida Mahmud is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in deep learning and computer vision. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Nauto since August 2019, Tahmida has successfully led the Perception team. Prior to this role, Tahmida held various positions including Senior Engineering Manager and Engineering Manager at Nauto. Tahmida's background includes significant contributions as a Staff Deep Learning Engineer and Senior Deep Learning Engineer at the University of California, Riverside, where research focused on activity recognition and video captioning. An Applied Scientist I at Amazon Web Services, Tahmida implemented a real-time activity recognition system. Additionally, experience at Hewlett Packard Enterprise involved performance modeling for deep learning workloads, and work at Samsung R&D Institute included developing innovative testing systems and a word recognition engine. Tahmida holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, Riverside, alongside a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.
