Tom Tindale has over 12 years of experience in the engineering and boat design industry. Tom began their career in 2007 as a Boatyard Intern at New England Boatworks, where they assisted in the construction of a 49-foot high-speed air cavity catamaran. In 2008, they moved to Matson Navigation as a Ship Engine Room Cadet. In 2009 and 2010, they held Engineering Intern roles at Murray & Associates and Michael Peters Yacht Design, respectively. In 2011, they joined Metal Shark Aluminum Boats as a Naval Architect/Marine Engineer, where they designed military, commercial, and recreational aluminum boats 16-40 feet, using Solidworks, AutoCAD, and Rhino. In 2013, they became a Marine Engineer at BAE Systems Hawaii Shipyard. Tom was then promoted to Principal Engineer at BAE Systems, Inc. in 2015, and to Senior Research Engineer at Navatek, LLC in 2019.
Tom Tindale completed their Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Webb Institute in 2010. Tom then pursued their MSc in Maritime Engineering Science, specializing in Yacht and Small Craft Design, from the University of Southampton in 2011.
