Ramiar Alaei, PhD, currently serves as a Staff Product Engineer at Navitas Semiconductor since January 2024. Previously, Ramiar was a lecturer at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology from January 2017 to December 2023, where significant contributions included designing a protection scheme for overcurrent protective relays and developing a web-based simulation software for virtual testing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior experience includes a role as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Alberta, focusing on soft-switched modular multilevel converters and bidirectional power converters for HVDC applications, as well as positions at Great Tehran Electrical Distribution Co. and AUT Consulting, specializing in fault current limiters and battery management systems, respectively. Ramiar holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta, as well as a Master's degree and Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology - Tehran Polytechnic.
