Thomas Kürstgens has a diverse work experience in the renewable energy and technology sectors. Thomas is currently working as a Product Manager Solar at zolar since February 2021. Before that, they worked at ReCell as a Strategist from September 2019 to September 2020, where they focused on analyzing market structures and political frameworks in the Li-ion battery value-chain.
Prior to that, Thomas worked as a Master Thesis Intern at sonnen GmbH from March 2020 to August 2020, where they gained valuable experience in project management and research. Thomas also interned at the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW) from October 2017 to February 2018, where they were involved in the development of innovative Fischer-Tropsch synthesis.
Thomas began their career as an intern at LEONI in October 2013, where they gained exposure to the technology industry. Thomas also interned at atd GmbH in April 2011. Throughout their work experiences, Thomas has demonstrated a strong interest and commitment to renewable energy and sustainability.
Thomas Kürstgens obtained their high school diploma from Freie Waldorfschule Aachen in the years 1999 to 2012. Thomas then pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical and Process Engineering at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) from 2013 to 2018. Thomas continued their education by pursuing a Master's degree in Energy Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico from 2019 to 2020. In addition, they also pursued a Master of Science degree in Environomical Pathways for Sustainable Energy Systems at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya from 2018 to 2021. Furthermore, they took part in a New Venture Creation Project at Esade in 2018 and 2019.
