Brian Upshaw

Brian Upshaw serves as the Associate Executive Director-Treasurer and Director of Ministry Strategies for the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina since October 2008. In this role, Brian provides leadership to various teams focusing on evangelism, discipleship, and church health initiatives. Additionally, Brian has held multiple positions, including Interim Executive Director-Treasurer and Team Leader. An accomplished educator, Brian has taught as an adjunct professor at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Piedmont International University. Prior experience includes serving as Senior Associate Pastor at First Baptist Church Gulfport and several key instructional roles at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Upshaw holds advanced degrees in Christian Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelor’s in Music Education from Valdosta State University.
