Brian Neesby serves as the Chief Information Officer for the N.C. State Board of Elections since October 2014, managing a team of over 30 FTEs and overseeing a multimillion-dollar IT budget and critical statewide election applications. As a C-Suite member, Brian ensures the protection of the state's complex network against cyber threats while supervising infrastructure and enterprise software utilized by 2,500+ machines across 500+ locations. Previously, Brian held the position of Chief Data Officer, acting as a liaison to the Project Management team on multimillion-dollar IT projects. Brian's earlier experience includes serving as a Systems Consultant for Toyota Motor Sales, where responsibilities included developing a Sarbanes-Oxley Act database platform and managing system processes in coordination with a parent company in Japan. Educational qualifications include a Master of Information and Data Science from the University of California, Berkeley, a Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from UCLA.
