Hypatia Alexandria is an experienced professional with a strong background in transportation and community service. Currently serving as a member of the Transportation Advisory Committee for the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments since January 2013 and as a member of the TPB Access for All Advisory Committee since July 2020, Hypatia has a proven commitment to advocating for diverse viewpoints in transportation policy. Additional leadership roles include board memberships with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, Virginia Department of Regulations, and the Medical Care for Children Partnership Foundation. Hypatia founded the Hispanic American Chamber of Commerce of Northern Virginia and has actively contributed to multiple organizations, including Emerge Virginia and the Hispanic American Freethinkers. Academic credentials include a PhD candidacy in Transportation and Housing from Virginia Tech and a Master's degree in Urban and Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia, complemented by a BA in Political Science from Missouri State University.
