Jim Murray

Executive Director - Corporate Information Security (ciso) at NCCI

Jim Murray has over two decades of experience in the field of information security. Jim began their career as a Network Security Engineer at NCCI in 1998. In 2002, they were promoted to the role of Information Security Architect, where they served until 2015. Jim then took on the position of Executive Director - Corporate Information Security (CISO) at NCCI, a role they continue to hold. Additionally, they have served as a SANS Community Instructor at the SANS Institute since 2004, teaching the SEC401 Security Essentials track. Jim also has experience in the private sector, serving as the Director/Secretary of the South Florida Chapter of InfraGard, a cooperative partnership between the FBI and the private sector for the protection of U.S. critical infrastructure. From 2009 to 2012, they held the position of VP of Member Relations/Communications at the South Florida Chapter of ISSA, where they were responsible for protecting membership information and answering membership inquiries.

Jim Murray earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in CyberSecurity from Liberty University in 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems with a concentration in Security Administration from Strayer University in 2013. Jim also holds an Associates in Arts (AA) degree from Palm Beach State College, which they completed in 2008. Jim'shigh school education was completed at Robinson Senior High School from 1985 to 1988. Additionally, Jim has obtained multiple certifications, including the Certification in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) from ISACA in 2019 and the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in 2006. Jim has also completed various foundational courses in operational excellence and DevOps from LinkedIn. Jim has also acquired multiple SANS certificates, including GISF, GSEC - Gold, GCFA, G2700 (Retired), GAWN, GCIH, GCCC, GMON, GSTRT.
