Gerardo Romo-Cardenas, PhD has diverse work experience in the field of research and engineering. Gerardo currently serves as an Optical Engineer at NearShore Technology, where they specialize in optical component simulation and provides support in supplier and product engineering for BD Biosciences. Prior to this role, Gerardo worked as a Research Assistant Professor at Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, focusing on interdisciplinary research projects involving Mid-IR spectroscopy bio-sample characterization and quantification. Subsequently, they pursued further studies and completed their Master's degree in Optics/Optical Sciences at Centro de Investigación Científica y de Educación Superior de Ensenada between 2003 and 2007. Dr. Romo-Cardenas continued their academic journey and attained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical Optics from Universidad Autónoma de Baja California from 2015 to 2019.
