Mark ter Maat is a software developer and researcher at Nedap Livestock Management since December 2012, focusing on software for agricultural environments and the analysis of animal behavior. Previous experience includes serving as a postdoctoral researcher and PhD student at the University of Twente, with research centered on human behavior understanding, virtual agents, and dialogue systems. Earlier work as an intern at the Institute for Creative Technologies involved studying the backchannel behavior of virtual listening agents. Mark ter Maat holds an MSc in Human Media Interaction and a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Twente and attended Het Streek and Prinses Juliana School for earlier education.
