Rusty Hampton

Rusty Hampton has extensive experience in sports journalism and media relations, currently serving as a Staff Editor and Media Relations specialist at Neel-Schaffer, Inc. since May 2013, where responsibilities include writing and editing marketing materials. Previously, Hampton held positions as Marketing Manager and Marketing Editor, further honing expertise in content creation. Prior experience includes serving as Sports Editor at The Clarion-Ledger, managing a large staff and overseeing the production of the daily sports section. Earlier roles as a sports reporter for The Courier-Journal and The Clarion-Ledger involved covering major collegiate athletics, while initial journalism experience included a position at USA TODAY and a reporting role at the Statesman Journal. Hampton earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a Print Media Emphasis from Pacific University, graduating in 1980.
