Jason Vlaun Mba, Sphr, Chrm

Jason Vlau's work experience includes a variety of roles in HR and administration. Jason is currently serving as the Chief Human Resources Officer and Vice President of HR & Administration at Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island. In this role, they are responsible for workforce planning, talent attraction and retention strategies, and the development of initiatives to enhance organizational engagement and agility.

Prior to their current role, they served as the Director of Human Resources at Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island, where they led key functions such as employee relations, talent acquisition, and diversity and inclusion. Jason also consulted with the leadership team to strengthen organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.

In addition to their work in the healthcare industry, Jason also has experience as a business owner of Top Notch Rentals, a family-owned equipment rental business. Jason is knowledgeable in providing quality equipment rentals at affordable prices.

Before their tenure at Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island, Jason worked as the Associate Director of Business Development & Practice Integration at Northeast Medical Group. Jason managed talent acquisition and played a key role in mergers and acquisitions for the organization.

Jason also has experience in the medical field, having served as the Director of HR & Business Operations at L+M Medical Group. In this role, they were responsible for all aspects of human resources strategy and operations, including employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, and leadership development.

Prior to their work in the healthcare industry, Jason gained extensive experience in human resources at Electric Boat, where they held various roles including Manager of HR & EEO/AA Officer and Chief of HR & EEO/AA Officer. Jason oversaw multiple HR functions such as employment and staffing, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and government relations.

Early in their career, Jason worked as a Senior Mortgage Loan Officer at Nationwide Mortgage Company and as a Server/Bartender/Bar Manager at Pinelli's Cucina & Twist/Quattro Grill.

Jason Vlaun holds a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from the University of Rhode Island - College of Business, which they obtained from 1998 to 2002. Jason further pursued their education at the University of New Haven, where they earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from 2006 to 2008. In addition to their academic background, Jason has also obtained several certifications. In April 2010, they completed a certification in Human Resources Management from George Washington University. Recently, in May 2023, they earned the prestigious Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) Certification from HRCI. Moreover, in June 2023, they became a member of the SHRM Executive Network.
