Katie Mellskog

Katie Mellskog has extensive work experience in the field of clinical operations. Katie is currently working at Nektar Therapeutics as the Director of Clinical Operations since December 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Associate Director of Clinical Operations at the same company from September 2018 to January 2023.

Before joining Nektar Therapeutics, Katie Mellskog held various positions at the University of Minnesota. Katie served as the Director of Clinical Research Services, where they managed a staff of over 74 personnel and oversaw an operational budget of 8.5 million dollars. Katie also served as the Director of Nursing Operations and the Solid Tumor Program Lead during their time at the university.

Throughout their career, Katie Mellskog has demonstrated strong leadership and management skills in overseeing clinical operations and research activities. Katie has worked collaboratively with different organizations and institutions, including the Clinical Translational Research Institute, Fairview Health Systems, and University of Minnesota Physicians.

Katie began their education journey in 1992 at the University of North Dakota, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Following their passion for healthcare, Katie earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bethel University between 1996 and 1998. Katie then pursued a Master of Science degree in Nursing Leadership at the University of Minnesota, completing their studies in 2007. Additionally, Katie attended the University of Minnesota's Women's Leadership Institute in 2006, further enhancing their skills and knowledge.
