Andreas Cangellaris

Andreas Cangellaris is currently serving as the Founding President of NEOM University since August 2022. Prior to this role, Andreas held various positions at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from August 1997 to August 2022, including Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost, M. E. Van Valkenburg Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Dean of the College of Engineering, and Department Head of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Earlier in their career, Andreas worked at the University of Arizona from August 1987 to August 1997 as both Associate Professor and Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and spent time at General Motors Research Laboratories as a Senior Member of Technical Staff from September 1985 to July 1987. Andreas Cangellaris earned a PhD and MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
